Kids Cooking Camp Aug 2022

We invite all budding chefs ages 7-14 to beat the summer heat and join us in the kitchen this summer! Here’s how it works:

We will have 4 chefs per table, each table will have an lead chef to watch fingers, toes and recipes. The kids will be given recipes and we will be learning to read carefully before beginning each dish. Each dish will have a “head chef” who (with assistance) will be responsible for the execution of the dish. This includes supervising the gathering of equipment and ingredients in our Kids Pantry and consulting the recipe card. It is all hands on and everyone will share responsibilities. We will have a dedicated knife skills lesson, learn about measuring ingredients and why that is important. We will bake and cook. The first day of camp I have a menu set, then during class we will collaborate and come up with key dishes for the rest of the week. The campers enjoy having input and I always find that the “pickiest” kid always finds something new to try. They will eat lunch each day and we invite parents/sibs/grandparents to join us on the last day when the kids turn Art of the Meal into a restaurant. They will learn to invite in their guests and take an order and serve. Each ticket includes 2 meals for guests. Additional guests are $8. We will get a headcount on Wednesday. Please note, this is a Monday-Thursday camp.
