There was the year that mom tried to change things up. Instead of serving our family classic stuffing of cornbread and sausage -she introduced a new version with dried apricots and mushrooms…Um no. Let’s just say mom got a talking-to. Order, it was agreed, would be restored the following year. As a chef, all these years later I can empathize with my mom. You strive to give people what they want, but you also want to embrace the new. It’s not easy to do both!
So this year, let’s try to give them what they want-but in a way they might not know they wanted. Maybe instead of changing up the entire menu, we add a few new dishes that just might become beloved family favorites.
Butternut Squash Tarte Tatin
Shaved Carrots with Charred Dates
Cranberry Sauce 2 ways: Spicy and Orange/Cinnamon
Wild Rice Dressing
Spactchcock method for roasting turkey (we will make a chicken) and Umami Gravy
NOTE: If you are purchasing an event for kids (under 18), you will need to complete the Kids’ Waiver, which will be included in your confirmation email.
